What might be more fun on a rainy day than a broken ignition wire? Of course, the only one to blame is me, since I did not pay attention to the routing of wires when mounting everything back together. A patch should work for a few days…
San Miguel de Allende
This is another colonial town with good looking buildings. Too bad the streets are always crowded with cars. As we found out while shopping for food, a large community of non-hispanic whites lives here.
The first crash
Finally, it happened! It was night, and a road work area came after a very fast section. I reduced the speed but not enough. We had around 75km/h when the rear wheel lost grip. A high-side crash followed, more spectacular than painful. With the help of a tie down we managed to put everything back and continue. Some repairs are needed. Damage report: one turn signal, one mirror, a fog lifht, a cracked/bented rear rack, a cracked pannier and some contusions on both of us. The other drivers were very helpful.

Mina Cata
Besides the Guanajuato center, the nearby mines are also on the UNESCO World Heritage list. So we visited one of these mines. CanĀ“t say exactly what makes this mine so special…
Guanajuato, Guanajuato
One thing that distinguishes Guanajuato from other cities is the network of underground tunnels. Some time ago a river was flowing under the city and, after it has been diverted, the remaining tunnel was enlarged and converted for pedestrian and automobile traffic. Then the network was extended, so now almost anywere you look you can see a tunnel entrance.
Too bad traffic was so congested. Probably, if this city would have been in Europe, most of the center would have been pedestrian only. We also shoot a short movie while riding through the narrow streets. Please excuse the camera shaking, but after take #3 the inhabitans were already annoyed enough, so we gave up the idea to shoot take #4.
