The Teotihuacan archaeological site is in the immediate vicinity of Mexico City. Fortunately, it was not very crowded. They also have a museum there, plus you can climb the pyramids (all 3 of them). Plus you can do all the shopping right there: vendors will come to you offering sun glasses, hats, musical instruments, jewlery, food, batteries, clothing and so on :))
The auto hotel
A very popular accomodation in this part of world is the so-called “auto motel”. Each unit is formed by a garage + a room. Plenty of room to dry the clothes, cook or fix the motorcycle. For some reason, there was a lot of raining in Mexico City area, so after each day we had to dry almost everything…
México, D.F.: Fixing the bike
I am writing this from Acapulco de Juarez, Guerrero. Meaning that I am about 4 days late with the postings. We spent 4 nights in México, DF. One day we found a motorcycle shop where Poncho and his guys worked together with me for 6 hours to fix and tune-up our bike. We fixed almost everything and Poncho also helped with his pick-up to get the parts to the welding shop, which was a bit far actually. At the end he proved to be friendly one more time, asking for only a fraction of the fair price for the labor.
Santiago de Querétaro, Querétaro
This was our last stop before Mexico City. Santiago de Querétaro is another well preserved colonial city, also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Technical difficulties
What might be more fun on a rainy day than a broken ignition wire? Of course, the only one to blame is me, since I did not pay attention to the routing of wires when mounting everything back together. A patch should work for a few days…
